Meet the Founder/Mission Statement

My name is Galila Daniel, just your average youngster with big hopes for the world. Ever since I was young, around 5 years old, I had been visiting the country of Ethiopia almost every summer. It's such a beautiful country, with so much potential for growth and prosperity. The only problem  holding Ethiopia back is it's 3rd World label, which unfortunately, haunts the country's status to this day. I always felt the hurt when a poor child would come up to my window with a little baby in it's arm, covered in dust and dirt. They often had no parents; they were homeless orphans with a fate bound to poverty. I asked to myself one day, 'what can be done? How can I help?' and surely, beginning a charity was my one most important goal from then on. I came to realize that as a country tries to aspire to greater heights through business and city growth, they often forget about the rest of the country that is still hundreds of steps behind. My goal now, is to help that part of  the country and it's people. Through Spirit of Concord I hope to shelter those without a roof over their heads and aid them with a free clinic for their health. Of course, a charity like this doesn't become successful over night; it takes a lot of work and devotion, and most importantly- support. My wish is to go to Ethiopia at the height of this charity and see how things have changed, hopefully some smiles included. At this point, Spirit of Concord is trying to grow and be prosperous in order to fulfill the desire poverty stricken people have for aid and a helping hand. As I've said many times before, "Before one half moves too far ahead, I believe the other half must be able to catch up."
